We began class with a brief overview of what to expect in this semester. We began our main topic on healthcare. We looked at design companies such as IDEO who are focusing on innovative ideas that could improve healthcare from a different prospective.

The Brief

For this semester we are tasked to create our own brief. This can be anything related to healthcare. I was quite surprised and overwhelmed with the thought of creating my own project but I feel it will challenge my UX and design skills.

Here are just a few platforms I can think about using to develop my idea:

Looking at our own healthcare system

In Northern Ireland, our healthcare system faces some big challenges. One problem is that there's not always enough money to go around, which can make it hard for hospitals and clinics to give everyone the care they need quickly. Another issue is that we don't always have enough doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers, so sometimes it's tough for them to keep up with all the patients. Some hospitals and clinics are old or don't have the right equipment, which can make it harder to get the best care possible. Overall, we need to work on fixing these problems so that everyone in Northern Ireland can get the healthcare they deserve.

By applying design thinking and innovation to healthcare challenges, companies like Big Motive can play a valuable role in driving positive change and improving healthcare outcomes for individuals and communities.

How can designers help this situation?

As designers our aim is to improve healthcare by prioritising user needs, creating clear communication materials, and enhancing patient experiences. By creating new digital tools and making things simpler to help patients and fix unfair differences. Our goal as designers is to drive positive change in healthcare outcomes and experiences for all.

Target Audience and Demographics

We then looked into who are target audience would be. Healthcare is such a wide topic it could really be aimed at any group. Here are some questions to consider in the next few weeks:
