Life is Strange: A Story Told Through a Scrapbook

I enjoyed playing video games as a kid, especially the game Life Is Strange because of its unique User Interface (UI).

Life is Strange is a story-based game by Dontnod Entertainment. It uses a special UI design, a digital scrapbook, to help tell the story and keep the player engaged. This is more than just a menu it's a main spot for different game elements.

The scrapbook looks like a handmade journal, showing the main character's artistic style. Its hand drawn pictures, written notes, and collage designs add to the game's artistic feel and mood.

The scrapbook is also part of the story. It has journal entries that give a look into the main character's thoughts. It offers thoughts on important events, choices, and relationships in the game.

This game was set up like a scrapbook that the player could interactively move through. It was an added touch to the overall game design which gave the user a connection to the characters.

Reflection

I'm inspired by Life is Strange's creative UI. I want to make my Apollo 11 project just as engaging. Like the scrapbook in the game, I want to make a UI that lets users deeply explore the Apollo 11 mission. I could make a digital journal that tells the story of the mission like a personalised scrapbook. It could mix technical details with the astronauts' personal stories, drawings, and fun interactive parts that capture space exploration. This could turn the facts about the Apollo 11 mission into a story that users can experience and connect with.
