This week we had a lecture about application we went over touch points, motion and mockups and how advertising draws in the audience.
Touchpoints
Touchpoints in design refer to the various points of contact between a user and a product or service. They can be physical or digital interactions, such as using a product or service, visiting a website, or using a mobile app. Designers must consider the user's journey and optimise each touchpoint to create a positive user experience. Examples of touchpoints include the sign-up process for a website, the checkout process for an online store, and the onboarding process for a mobile app.
Motion
Motion design is the use of animation and video to create visual interest and engagement. It can be used in digital and traditional media to create engaging and interactive experiences for users. Motion design can be used to communicate a brand message, to explain a complex concept, or to create an immersive experience. Examples of motion design include animated logos, explainer videos, and social media posts with animated elements.
Mockups
A mockup is a representation of a design that is created to help visualise how the final product will look. It can be created for websites, mobile apps, and other digital or physical products. Mockups can be static images or interactive prototypes that simulate the user experience. They are used to test and refine ideas before the final product is created, to get feedback from stakeholders, to test usability, and to identify potential issues or improvements.
What is advertising?
Advertising is a way to promote a product, service or brand to a target audience. It is a form of marketing that aims to increase awareness, generate interest, and ultimately drive sales. Advertising can take many forms, including print ads, TV commercials, online ads, billboards, and more. The goal of advertising is to create a message that resonates with the target audience and encourages them to take action, such as making a purchase, signing up for a service, or visiting a website.
Reflection
Overall this week reminded me a lot of my graphic design past and I enjoyed learning about how important marketing can be in the design industry.
