I started reading this article about the mental health strain on workers following the COVID-19 pandemic for insight. I have collected the survey information below.

“Half of nursing staff who responded to the survey considered the current level of support being provided to health and social care staff on mental health and wellbeing as inadequate. But a third told Nursing Times they had needed support and felt unable to ask for it.”

The pie chart shows how stress levels have changed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Most people, 53%, are a lot more stressed than before. 34% are a little more stressed. Only 8% haven't seen a change in their stress levels. Just 5% are less stressed - 3% a little less and 2% a lot less. This shows that the pandemic has made most people more stressed. It shows we need to do more to help people with their mental health during this difficult time.

The pie chart shows that more people are feeling anxious now than before the COVID-19 pandemic. 55% of people say they feel a lot more anxious, and 35% feel a little more anxious. This means 90% of the people asked are more anxious. This shows the big impact the pandemic has had on mental health. Only 7% of people feel the same as before, and just 3% feel less anxious. This could mean that some people have found changes in their life or less social stress helpful.

The biggest group 36% feel their mental health is okay. But 33% feel their mental health is not good with 26% saying it's bad and 7% saying it's very bad. Meanwhile 28% feel good about their mental health with 24% saying it's good and 4% saying it's very good.

The pie chart shows what people think about the mental health support for healthcare and social care workers. Most people, 54%, think there isn't enough support. Of these, 36% say it's not enough and 18% feel it's far from enough. Only 29% think the support is okay. This means that we need to do more to help these workers with their mental health. People aren't happy with how things are now and we need to give more resources and aid.
