What is a landing page?

Now lets get started on my landing page, I began taking notes down on my iphone of the basic areas I would like to touch on. Daniel previously told us it doesn’t need to be long and just needs to be a introduction to our banking apps. I decided to focus in on the unique customisable options my app has.

I then went ahead and created a wireframe based of the notes. I’m overall happy with the outcome of my wireframe making sure I didn’t over complicate things as I usually do.

for my landing page I really wanted to focus on using the colours in my app as the main centrepiece. I used only one image from Pinterest for the contact us section and relied on my app design for the rest of the imagery.

Things that didn’t work

At first I was using a gradient background and as much as I liked it I felt it was distracting. The shapes in the background also weren’t working out out and in my opinion made it look clustered. I felt it took away from the whole purpose of my app, the accessibility and legibility.

I also decided to change the black phone case as it didn’t fit the vision. The bank cards weren’t aligned and looked all over the place. The body of text was difficult to read and further more the flexa app had no mockup phone around it which made it look unfinished.

Looking back at this older version of my landing page I am extremely happy i decided to go minimalist.

Changing mistakes

I had my heart set on using this dog design but when I went into preview mode it began so blurry that I had to remove it.

This was a similar 3D image I found on Pinterest which fitted into my landing page perfectly and it was high resolution.

Things that worked

Using a simple layout like the figma landing page I went ahead and began changing the mockups and background colour that I previously had.

I then used a mockup of my other colour variations instead of the black phone case that I used previously as I feel it looks minimal and modern.
