I wanted to look at what features would realistically work in my app now and what features I could develop further in the future. At the minute, my main features are based around scanning items, saving memories and helping users reconnect with things that are important to them.
One of my main features is being able to scan an item through the camera. I feel like this is one of the most realistic features for my current prototype, as it is simple for the user to understand and it links really well to the purpose of Memori. The idea is that users can take a physical item, scan it, and then turn it into a digital memory that they can keep and look back on.
Another feature I have included is being able to scan through a memory box. This would let users add items into a specific box, so their memories feel more organised instead of everything being stored in one place. I think this feature is achievable because it builds on the scanning feature, but gives it more structure and makes the app feel more personal.
I also have the feature where users can find a lost item that no longer exists. This is probably one of the more ambitious parts of the app, but I really like it because it makes Memori feel more emotional. Even if the actual item is gone, the user can still describe it and use the app to bring back the memory of it. I think this fits well with the whole idea of the app, as it is not just about storing objects, but also saving the stories and feelings behind them.

In the future I would like to add a community element through the My Circle feature. This would let users share memories with close friends or family members. I think this would be a nice addition because a lot of memories are connected to other people, but I would want to make sure users still feel in control of what they share and who they share it with.
I would also like to develop the recap stories further. Instead of just showing a simple recap, I want the app to create deeper and more meaningful stories from the user’s memories, items and notes. This would make the app feel more personal and would help users properly reflect on their memories, rather than just scrolling through them.
Another feature I would love to add in the future is something that can analyse really old items or family trinkets and help find the story behind them. This would be harder to create, as it would need more advanced AI, but I think it would make Memori really unique. It could help users learn more about old objects that have been passed down in their family, especially if they do not know the full story behind them.
Overall, I think my current features are realistic for the first version of Memori, as they focus on scanning, saving and organising memories. The future features are more ambitious, but they show how the app could grow over time and become more meaningful. I want Memori to start as a way to store memories, but eventually become something that helps users connect more deeply with their past, their family and the stories behind the items they keep.
