A small group of us, along with Daniel, discussed each of our three ideas. Here is a summary of the overall discussion and what I took from it.

Idea 1: Interactive Home Design Game/App

This idea felt like it had potential. I explained the outcome and my vision, but Daniel mentioned that IKEA already has something similar. I thought adding pixel art and gamifying it would make it more appealing, but I took the feedback on board. Since it is already quite close to what exists, I decided to put this idea to rest.

Idea 2: AI Diary of Your Life

This was my least favourite idea. I felt it had been done many times, and there are already plenty of apps that offer a similar experience. The group agreed. One person said, “It’s something I’d use for two weeks and then never open again.” That confirmed it for me, so I decided it was best to drop this idea.

Idea 3: Interactive Object

This was my favourite idea and also the group’s. One person suggested, ” What if the memories could be projected?”, so it would not be limited to just a mobile or tablet screen. Another mentioned how meaningful it could be for the loss of a pet, letting children remember them by interacting with the dog’s collar or toy. We also discussed how this kind of object could support people dealing with grief or dementia. We also discussed if the objects could be scanned in using AR scanning instead of tags.

After this discussion, we agreed that this idea was the strongest of the three. I will now move forward with my initial research and development for this project.
