I found this music app design on devian art created as a example. Its a great structure and has a refreshing minimal design. I chose them because I feel they are simple in structure and understandable I really appreciate minimal layouts.

Spotify VS Apple music

Now that I’ve looked at dummy templates lets look at the most popular music apps and compare what differences or similarities they have.

Spotify and Apple Music are both popular music streaming services that allow users to access a vast library of songs, albums, and playlists on demand. Here are some key differences between the two:

1. Platform availability: While both services are available on iOS and Android, Apple Music is also available on Mac and PC, as well as Apple Watch and Apple TV. Spotify, on the other hand, is available on a wide range of platforms, including some smart speakers and gaming consoles.
2. Music library: Both services offer a vast music library, but the size and availability of songs may differ. Apple Music claims to have a library of over 75 million songs, while Spotify has around 70 million songs.
3. User interface: The user interface of Spotify is generally considered to be more user-friendly, with a clean and intuitive design. Apple Music's interface is more complex, with a steeper learning curve, but offers more features such as radio stations and curated playlists.

I decided to create a mind map based on music, these were the key points that I felt were important in music.

Going forward I picked a key point from my original mind map and focused into it, I chose artist as they have a huge public influence when it comes to music they can persuade their following to purchase products or services.

For my music app I want it to be based on mood. When I am feeling a certain way I always know music will effect my temperament which is why I want to focus my app on emotion. I had an idea to make the backgrounds changeable. This may include changing the background to rain when your upset or fire when your furious. Another idea I envisioned was changing the app background depending on the time and weather. For example if there is a starry night the background will be stars. Since I love listening to podcasts its important that this is a key feature in my music app.
