For this project we focused on the basics of design. Beginning with Point, Line , Plane

Pablo Picasso

One of the most iconic artists I have researched is Pablo Picasso. He was an artist that never limited himself to one style of artwork. In his later years he began to draw line work, he could capture any image with just a few drawings of lines.

What is point?

What is point? Point is a eye catching visualisation. The brain will work overtime to make a simple point mean something which is why us humans try and find the easiest way to solve an issue. A point can be seen anywhere wether we focus on it or not its a natural instinct. It is usually seen as the main focus but if many shapes are formed together we can recognise the point of interest.

Point exercise

Here is a few frames of point designs which I created In a tutorial in class, this give me understanding of how two simple points can create a centred design, I wanted to show the emphasis on scale.

This was my first attempt using Figma I used the circle tool. I wanted to show organisation as seen in my example to the right. I wanted the points to connect to each other in each frame to give the designs movement.

Final designs

For this assignment we had to pick Reflect, Multiply, Disperse, Proximity, Scale, Dominance and create visual images using nothing but circles, dots and points. No colour was needed as the imagery is powerful with the use of solid black. I chose reflect and scale for my two words.

This was my final designs I created, the first design is three broken hearts but if you look more closely it can be interrupted as a plant, I did this on purpose to show different perspectives.
