For my next step I am going to take my wireframes and illustrations and create them on figma. Using my wireframe as a plan I went ahead and began the skeleton of my app. At this moment I hadn’t picked out a colour palette but knew i wanted it to be purple or dark blue to fit into the relaxation mood concept.
Things that didn’t work
After creating my illustrations I went ahead and created 6 screens for my music app. I decided to scrap the first idea as it wasn’t fitting my overall visualisation. The dark purple was too intense for my relaxed hedgehog colour palette.
Creating my music app
Hues of purple are both calming and stimulating for the mind, creating a balance that promotes imagination and creativity. It's a great colour to surround yourself with when creating art and brainstorming your next project this is the main reason I chose these tones for my app.
The process
Using the updated version of my wireframe I started with a blank background and tried my best to copy the wireframe digitally. Creating six frames I began centring my illustrations to see how they would appear in a smaller scale.
Going forward I used the colours from above to create a relaxation theme throughout, I also added in my icons and in my opinion they fit the vision great. I really enjoyed the creative process of this project and found it intriguing to see the app slowly coming together. I got apps from google to make it feel authentic and decided to make the edges of my illustrations round to give it a softer appearance.
Creating a background
I also thought it would be a nice touch to create a background screen when the music was playing, I used the pen tool and multiple shapes to create this illustrative design on figma. I did this as I felt it needed something to break up the screens so it wasn’t all the same. I really enjoyed creating this little piece and I feel it looks really effective as its not too overwhelming and matches the theme and vision perfectly.
