This week in class we went over the fibonacci sequence using micro to showcase examples we found. We also went over the core principles of design which include Golden Ratio, Rule of thirds, Typography hierarchy and Gestalt Principles.

Fibonacci sequence

The Fibonacci sequence was first created in italy by a mathematician called Leonardo Fibonacci.

Its basically a set of numbers that start with zero and one. It gradually gets higher equal to two numbers each time.

here is an example of the Fibonacci sequence below to make it understandable.

Golden Ratio

Golden ratio is a set of numbers that equal to 1.618. It comes from the Fibonacci sequence. You can find Golden ratio in everyday like rather is be a seashell or a flower. Golden ratio is used in many ways such as design, photography and even surprisingly cosmetic surgeries.

Rule of thirds

The rule of thirds is commonly used in the creative world it basically breaks up a photo or design into different sections. Its theoretically a table filled three with columns and three rows. The point in this is to let you focus on one section at a time. I remember using the rule of thirds in secondary school to draw as it made us focus on smaller details. Its also incredibly important in photography and I use it often as I want the subject of my photo to be focused and balanced.

Typography hierarchy

Using the website A Visual Type Scale is a great way to measure the font sizing on a design. It makes the type structured and reformed.
