In todays class we looked at the principles of human interface design. Taking a look at designers such as Don Norman who is a incredible influence to creating our own UI wireframe.
We started off todays class looking at Don Norman specifically his book The Design Of Everyday Things.
Don Norman is a extraordinary man who always thrives to create advancements in design. In this book he creates examples of Human Centered Design and writes about the flaws in design and how they can be improved to make things easier for the user. Don Norman will look at a light switch and try and find a uncomplicated way to make it easier to use. Sometimes design isn’t about creating new things but more about improving what we have to make it advanced.
So what is human centered design? Its basically when designers look at a problem in design and try and fix that issue to make it easier for the users. Its a range of design, science and engineering expertise all compacted into one term.
Here are the four main principles of human centered design:
User interface is the surface of a digital product. Its the appearance and how people view a product. Most of the time people get confused with the difference between UI design and UX design. The easiest way to separate these two terms is to think of UX design as the structure, the building of a system what makes it work while UI design is all about the aesthetic.
UX design also known as user experience it has a system of improving the users happiness by fine- tuning the accessibility and usability of a digital app, website or product.
Although they have separate roles they also share many similarities such as building prototypes, wireframes, user testing and much more.
