Project Pitch

Week 9 was focused on pitching, and this was my first opportunity to present my major project proposal to all 4 lecturers.

I wanted to clearly explain the issue I am trying to address, why I think it matters, and how my proposed idea begins to respond to it.

At this stage, I had also started putting together an initial brand for Memori. Although this is very early into my project so I am aware this could completely change.

Feedback

During the week of pitches, I experienced a bereavement in my family. When I was presenting my pitch, I was triggered when I had to say certain words out loud, which made me emotional. I tried my best to keep it together, but it was extremely difficult, as my app is very empathy-focused. I had a short break and then pulled myself together a few minutes later and finished my pitch. It was very embarrassing for me, but it also showed how powerful my idea is in connecting with real human emotions. This gives me a sense of excitement about what my project could do for someone dealing with loss.

If I could do things differently I would try not to look at the screen as I was speaking. I feel my emotion was valid and it shows how passionate I am about this project.
